Spray painting your kitchen cabinets and woodwork is a quick and easy way to update the look of your home. Before painting, ensure best results by following General Finishes's POWER PREP CLEAN STEPS on high-use areas, such as existing kitchen cabinets, tabletops, or anywhere there is heavy "hand traffic" and accumulated oils or grime.
POWER PREP CLEAN STEPS:
- Scrub with a strong degreasing detergent first and rinse thoroughly.
- Second scrub with 50:50 mix of denatured alcohol and water.
- Light sand with a 220-300 sanding pad (our preferred method) or 400-grit sandpaper.
- Apply two coats of General Finishes Stain Blocker to prevent stain, tannin or aniline dye bleed-through before paint.
